Summary
The Melting Pot is a children's book that shows how children should appreciate and respect other children's skin tone. It also talks about the backgrounds of the children. Children should start to develop a mutual understanding of each other. In the society we live in, we need to teach each other how to love ourselves so we can love others. The character Sade talks about her friends. Sade's friends come from different ethnic backgrounds. They play in a band called 'THE MELTING POT' at Louis Armstrong School (I.S.227), Queens, New York. The children have backgrounds ranging from African American to Asian American. \teach our children that colors are wonderful. They are the greatest gift from mother earth.
