Summary
The second edition of this book builds on those strengths that have made the first edition the leading anthology for the teaching of ancient philosophy: it's additional 100 pages offer an even richer selection of Presocratic fragments, testimonia and dialogues of Plato -- all in authoritative translations, skilfully edited and annotated for introductory students. Among the revisions is the addition -- in its entirety -- of Republic, as well as the death scene from Phaedo; nothing from the first edition has been deleted.
