Author Biography

About the Authors
Sylvie Bouvier is a French citizen and a graduate from the Université Jean Moulin Lyon 3. She has dedicated her career to translating and teaching French language and culture in the United States. Although she worked as a translator for several companies and law firms, most of her career has revolved around teaching students of all ages. She taught elementary school students at two schools in Washington D.C.: the National Cathedral School and the Lafayette Elementary School (where she headed the Foreign Language Program for 10 years). She also formerly taught college students at Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio. In addition, she has also served as a presenter at various ACTFL conferences. Currently, she teaches high school students advanced levels of French at the National Cathedral School. In this role, she prepares students each year for the SAT Subject Tests in French (with and without Listening), helping them improve their competency in the language and encouraging them to continue their education of French language and culture in college.
Renée White was a distinguished faculty member in the Modern and Classical Languages Department at the Greenhill School in Dallas, Texas.

About the Publisher
In the 1930s, Manuel H. Barron opened a bookstore in Brooklyn, New York.

People from the community asked Mr. Barron about books that might be available to help their children study for the New York State Regents exams. After realizing there wasn't anything available, Mr. Barron created his own study guides.

80 years later, Barron's has helped millions of people prepare for their next step.
