Summary

With the resurgence of tuberculosis as a global phenomenon, and the prevalence of AIDS worldwide, skeletal tuberculosis is on the increase, both in the West and the developing countries. In the U.K. TB has been on the increase since 1987, up 25% in the past ten years, with 7,000 cases per year, and is still one of the world's big killers. Thus with the proliferation of the tubercular source, skeletal TB is also becoming more widespread and therefore new information in dealing with this disease will be very welcome.
